I am very blessed to begin working toward my M.A. in Classics at Tufts University this fall. Even though I enjoyed a classical education from elementary school through high school, I was not immediately drawn to Classics as an academic major. Once I began studying Classics at Providence College however, it quickly became apparent that my study of the ancient world would not end with my bachelor’s degree. During my time as a Classics major, I have been the grateful recipient of an exceptional education. I have had the opportunity to study with professors who are not only outstanding scholars, but also wonderful people and gifted teachers. Whether driving our class to the RISD museum to look at ancient Greek vases, or explaining Hannibal’s use of the double-envelopment strategy with candy bars, the ancient world has truly come alive each time I set foot in the classroom. I am very grateful for this education and for the opportunity to continue my studies at Tufts University. Labor Omnia Vincit.
